Case Summary:

The complaint alleges that Crowley Maritime Corporation and its former employee Juan Blanco engaged in sex trafficking and violated the federal anti-sex trafficking statute known as the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA/TVPRA) when they transported plaintiff Jane Doe #1 from San Salvador, El Salvador to Jacksonville, Florida where, the complaint alleges, Doe was sexually assaulted by Blanco.

The complaint further alleges that Blanco subjected Ms. Doe and other female Crowley to a “hostile, abusive, and offensive work environment,” that the alleged sexual attack endured by Ms. Doe was part of a pattern of behavior by Blanco, and that Crowley knew or should have known that Blanco would violate the TVPA with respect to Ms. Doe during the trip to Jacksonville.
